Should a WRX MY96 have a front entry turbo or a top/side entry turbo?

Also which turbo should it be running?

Should it have a red inlet manifold?

Also should it be running a phase 1 or phase 1.5 inlet manifold?

depends if its a pre-facelift or not

pre-facelift models have a 90-degree inlet on the turbo and a phase 1 manifold

 

Facelift model.

Looks like it is a version 4 engine with the coil pack in the centre and a VF series turbo.
