z5 is from a 1995/96 wrx RA rated at 260ps think the redline is 7500rpm instead of 7000rpm

Does it rev to 7500? As the standard WRX red's at 7000. It's likley the old owner fitted the Z5 for the more aggresive map. If you did have an RA,the engine would have a 5th injector on top of the inlet manifold, just in front of the throttle body.

Easy way to check is here Which Car is a WRX STi and check the applied code for what it should be but also check what mit has said for physical proof.

yea... Its the one in view my scooby...but it has had a respray, but the original colour was silver. It doesnt have the 5th injector, so it must have had the Z5 added as you said. The head gasket problem, yes, well it was brought to light around a month after I bought it. Its nearly ready to go back together now! So you say you might have looked at it in december!? Where abouts?

I saw it on ebay,i was set to go have a look, but he had a lot of interest in the car,as it looks very smart with the wheels and face lift.He re-listed it and added a grand to the price, but was still a fair price.
