Default Little help please.

I've got a 94' wrx and lately its developed a problem by sometimes not boosting when I start from first gear. All i get is a big long whoooooosh from wot sounds like the dumpvalve and when I let off for a bit and put my foot down again then the boost all off a sudden comes in as normal. This problem also sometimes occurs when during normal cruising and I attempt to put my foot down to overtake.

I have given the boost solenoid a clean and checked all my boost pipes but no apparent signs of leaks as the problem is intermittant. A mate says it sounds like the dumpvalve is stuck open and sometimes doesn't shut properly from the previous boost.

Can anyone elaborate please.

Cheers

You could just do a temp fix and blank the DV off and try it, it wont do any harm just to eliminate the dump valve.

The temp fix never crossed my mind and I wish it had. Just bought a cheap dump valve off ebay and if works fine then I'll use it temporarily until I can get maybe a proper decent one like HKS or Blitz.
