Default Power dips at boost

Just got myself a 1998 2000turbo. And its got a bit of a problem. When it gets into boost (sometimes when not in boost) the power dips, like its missing but more severe. It makes a bit of a pop sound when it dips too. After it gets past 4000/4500rpm its ok and pulls smoothly.

Anyone had this problem?

Cheers

Gary

Edit: Half fixed. New problem, see later post

Half sorted the problem.

One of the HT leads wasnt in right.

Now it boosts at around 3k till 4, seems to hold back a bit then go again at 5.5k.

But only when my foot is to the floor, if i have it half down till 5k and floor it its fine.

ANy ideas? I know absolutly nothing about subarus as this is my first.

My 96 classic seems to be doing something very similar, foot flat it struggles but half way it pulls a little better. Can't be under fuelling as I have a Walbro 255 fitted so I'm in the same boat as you, any ideas guys?

Check all your plugs and leads, turned out to be another dogey lead on mine, not clicked onto the plug properly. Pulls fine now
