bit of a silly question,lol my origional clutch has been on the car for 109k, pretty gd i know,

over the last few days my clutch has been very judery at low speeds an kind of jerky for example if i pin it in 4th gear,

what do u guys think,

car is a 99yr rb5.

if i do need a new clutch/ flywheel. what make and how much.

im currently running at 300bhp soon to be 330bhp.

Is it slipping at all when it boosts? A good indication of a dead clutch

Exeedy racing clutches are good... You may want to go even better if your planning on going higher than 300bhp

 

when u say slippery, it seems fine when i plant it in, but this morning in traffic the car shook so much i thought it was going to fall apart in 1st gear, ive had a little judder the odd time but never as bad as it is now,

 

If the revs shoot up as if your foot is on the clutch is slipping. Plant it from low revs in second and if the revs fly up with little power then its slipping.

Is it ok once warm? Judder usualy happens 1st thing when cold.

Try taking it up to 5000rpm from stand still and launching it a couple of times. Sounds harsh but sometimes does the trick.


Could be flywheel or release bearing.

spoke to api and they said basically £500 for new clutch and flywheel.

paid 70 for exedy uprated clutch and lightened flywheel 8hours labour 230 pounds should of only taken 4 was told mine juddered due to flywheel being warped then when it was removed it was on the bring of shattering so take it easy mate i had to drive off boost all week

 

70 quid for a clutch, what car u running,
going up to c my mechanic tomoro so will get the low down there, wish me luck,

 

Wish u luck mate... More than £70 tho thats for sure. £130 clutch and depends on what you want to do with the flywheel. (skimmed if poss). New one over £100 at least £250 normal if lucky.
