I really need some help with a problem i've got with my scooby, My check light keeps coming on an it is Knock sensor, but the light comes on and off, sometimes on for a while then sometimes for a few seconds then goes off, mechanically it runs fine, i have had everything done to it , tried new knock sensors, different ECU's, had a new Wire loom put in the engine, the one that runs under the inlet manifold, had a new main harness put in that is behind the dash and an extra earthing wire put in from the engine to the body, and nothing, still the same , the specialist i go to an who has done the work is as puzzled as i am, the only other thing he thinks is it might need is maybe another earth put in, apart from that he is out of ideas, has any of you specialists out there got any more clues as to what the problem might be, really need help with this

 

Could the knock sensor actually be working and your engine is actually DETTING? Just an idea for you matie

 

What would cause it to Det, a bad map ?? i run it on v-power as well,
The problem is not always there though, sometimes the car runs fine, but then it doesnt take long before it comes back, so would detting cause the check light to come on then??
