Default I can change gears with using Clutch

I am sure this is not normal...?? i can go from 6th into 5th and 4th into 3rd without using my clutch..did it once accidently then tried onfce again to confirm and this is the case...

Anyone know what could be the litly cause of this?

If you judge the revs properly, once you have the car moving in first gear, it should be possible to change up and down the box with no clutch and no perceptible jerking etc.
Done properly you only need the clutch to set off and stop.

I used to be able to change gear without using the clutch in my old calibra... Like Harvey says...the revs have to be bang on...

Used to do it all the time in the hire cars at work when going on courses, didn't go in gear very well, made lots of crunching noises but didn't really care

Funny how I've never tried it in the Scoob

I used to do it all the time to entertain myself in the rented Corsa I used to teach in. Up and down shift. If you set off downhill you can even get first without the clutch

or just bump start it in first with the starter motor. Then no clutch needed whatso ever. (have used this when clutch cable snapped in an old golf of mine)

Funny how all these tests are conducted in hire cars

I tried this 20years ago in my mums Rover SD1. I lost the clutch, bump started in first, changed up to 2nd at what i thought were the correct revs, and bang! lost 2nd all together! Got the clutch fixed and mum wasn't to pleased about going from 1st to 3rd for the short period she kept it.

you won't damage the cogs as they all constantly mesh anyway.

if you keep doing it at the wrong speeds you will wear the syncro rings, cheaps as chips to buy, but cost a fortune to fit.

If you don't like using the clutch pedal you could always buy an Auto
