Proper name for heater system?
The motor that directs air to the screen, vents or floor is whinning and the fan itself for blowing out the air seems to be struggling so I'm thinking about replacing the heater system.
What's the technical/best name to describe that system? Need to phone up breakers to see if I can get hold of one for a bugeye wagon. Is it just one big 'part/section'?
Cheers
Richard.

Have you checked to see if the pollen filter is blocked before you go diving in replacing things?
Take the glovebox out and it's behind a small white flap.
Also, the flaps are moved about by an actuator - with the glovebox out you can see the rods for this behind the stereo. Try applying some white grease to the ends of the rods and the moving parts. If you haven't got any use a tiny bit of WD40.

Superb advice - thanks mate! Glove box easy to remove? Any obvious clips/screws?
The whinning noise is weird - it's on all the time and doesn't change when using the controls but my local garage unplugged something under the glovebox and it disappeared and came back when they plugged it back in. They said it was the motors for the flaps. I'll try and give everything a good clean/grease.
Thanks again Andy.
Richard.

Just had the glovebox off and the pollen filter was caked! - quick clean and it's as if I've a new motor in there - amazing difference. Many thanks Andy for saving me a fortune.
The whining noise seems to have gone after taken the box out - not back yet but even if it does come back then I know what I'm looking for
Happy chappy!
Cheers
Richard.
