Really loud wastegate since removing joiner box
hi guys to day i removed the box joiner that sits between the maf and the inlet of the turbo, it has the main air inlet pipe in and out, a small pipe that is connected to the bottem of the boost controller and another larger pipe that seems to be a vacume pipe and pushes on to a metal pipe.
as i have removed the box i had no where to connet the large pipe to and it would not run without the pipe connected. so i connected it further down the line.
i have a blitz bov so there is a bung where the recirc used to be, i plumbed the large pipe in to this hole, the car runs fine but......
1. when i change gear the wastegate is really really loud now.
2. through the induction kit you can hear a loud humming like the sound of the fans.
is what i have done ok or am in about to blow the car up.
Thanks David

I fitted a K&N induction kit with the new pipe in place of the box. The position of the large pipe shouldn't matter.
The wastegate noise will be louder as it isn't contained in a box, so is noticably louder.
From what you have said i can't see any problems, unless you don't like the sound of the wastegate?
I'm assuming the fan like noise is when on boost? I get this. This is the sound of the turbo sucking in the air.
cheers
