HI GUYS

JUST AFTER SOME ADVICE, GOT 2004 WRX AND HAVE DECIDED TO PUT A INDUCTION KIT/ AIR FILTER ON IT NOW, WHICH ONE WOULD YOU RECOMEND AND WOULD I NEED A REMAP AFTER DOING SO .

Stick with the air box and fit a decent panel filter, K&N or Green ect

dont fit an induction kit as its pointless unless your hitting over 350bhp.

With an induction kit the induction noise is increased often, incorrectly, making you think it goes better. There are no 'Big' gains to be had by just improving induction. The most beneficial way of doing things is induction and exhaust at the same time. More efficient intake and expelling of gases, you would notice quicker spooling of your turbo and a little increase in bhp/ torque. However, to really benefit from these changes a remap will bring everything together and along with an increase in boost will totally transform your car.

Whichever way you decide to do it 'Avoid' induction kits and stick to a performance filter, as said KN or Green will be fine. I hope this helps.

i think im gona get a green panel off scoobyworld, would anyone also be able to tell me what would be the maximum mod's i can do before requireing a remap thanks

i have already got a aftermarket exhaust but still have standard downpipe as i now that we require a remap, not boosting as sharp after removing second cat though

To be honest its a case of popping in the filter and the next step is a remap. You can make more mods but you will need a remap unless you drive off boost and that makes it kind of pointless and can cause damage. I had my UK MY99 remapped after fitting a cat back and KN panel filter. It went from 215bhp 227ft/lb to 281bhp and 312ft/lb, a massive increase. Any further maps will be much less than the initial fee as the licence fee is only paid once. Start saving for it and go to one of recommended guys on here and you will not go wrong. Honestly, and I am sure others will agree, its worth every penny.
