Decat-downpipe & sound
Hi all,
I've got a 2004 wrx with prodrive WR sport back box, H&S centre section, K&N and ecutek remap. I'm chuffed to bits with the car (made 268bhp at powerstation) and the sound is just about right. I'm considering a decat downpipe to free up a few more horses but don't really want to create a lot more noise. I'm thinking H&S decat but will this be a lot louder, or is there an alternative which is a bit quieter? (Milltek?) Thanks.

Yeah that's what I was thinking of. The H&S pipe with the sport cat and the second cat removed? Will this make it much louder? I don't want it to be too loud? Anyone got a similar set up who can advise? Thanks.

I had the Prodrive sport cat down pipe on my STI. The car made good performance results and there was very mild exhaust/turbo noise increase.
I have just fitted the H+S full system inc decat down pipe and the noise is ridiculous.
Sports cat all the way if funds permit.
