According to Andy Forrests website:

"Most 93-98 cars have 380cc injectors which at standard pressure are rated at up to 300 bhp. Later STI and 99/00 UK cars have 440cc injectors which can run to 350 bhp assuming adequate fuel pressure"

Don't suppose that helps tho - it says most had 380s?

I did a bit more digging trying to find a better answer for you. It appears V3 Stis had the yellow 440s, whereas V1/2s did not. However, you can get 440s for V1&2s.

As above. All V1/2s had grey 380cc injectors.

Yep all 1993-1996 had 380's inc. STi
STi 3 had 440's in Phase 1.5 rails which means the injectors will fit a Phase 1 rail on a 1993-1996 car

STi 4/5/6 used phase 2 rails and 440's so adaptors are required to fit these in a Phase 1.

Hi Lads, me again, i have the 440s and a fitting kit but was trying to save a remap for the near future due to lack of funds, wondering if an ECU from a car with 440s would go onto my classic MY1994 WRX ??
think im out'ta luck by the sounds of it they came with the newer phase models which have a different number of conector plugs on the ECU

Am i right!!

When I was digging around for you, I think you are right about the number of ECU connector plugs.

Get yourself a remap - chuck it on the plastic

Best thing I have done to my car remapping it, massive difference in the smile factor
