Default crank regrind ?

can you regrind a crank on a 1995 wrx and where would be the best place to get it done and to get the bearings?

I've asked this question before - it can be done, but don't bother, its not worth it & a new crank can be had for the same sort of money.

try mark at Lateral Performance or David @ API (to name a couple!)

I think you get the point now [ or you ought to ] Grinding a crank on an EJ20 Subaru engine is a bad idea.

The problem is that you cannot economically remove the gallery plugs from the crank to be able to clean it properly of carborundum grinding wheel residue. The only way to get the gallery plugs out is by spark erosion and the cost to do that will at least equal the cost of a new crank.

Being unable to guarantee removing all the swarf and residue makes it too much of a risky job as the debris will wreck the new engine in very few miles.

Not a risk worth taking.
