re-map needed
I have a MY00 classic with a few bits and pieces and was wandering if it was worth getting it re-mapped. It has been decatted both on the down pipe from turbo and centre section, HKS induction kit (mushroom type), blitz blow off valve, walbro 255 fuel pump. will also be looking to put a FMIC on it in the near future. Im still running a stock TD04 turbo aswell. Would it be worth putting it on the rollers now or wait till i get the FMIC?
I have read that the TD04 tends to lean out at higher RPM so may be looking at goin to a TD05 to go as a direct replacement.
Any thoughts or ideas? Ive read about the Simtek ECU and teh Apexi versions but am unsure as to what to do next.

you need a remap to get the best out of the mods , not a big fan of the HKS induction, better with a K+n tbh , and the bov , hmmmmm , better really with forge recirc
and with the walboro fuel pump you should get it mapped really...
you got Bob Rawle in swindon , hour away ?
he does ecutek or simtek , either would suit you , i've had Bob tek 3 mine a number of times , after each mod, and have had no problems ever , he's now fitted and mapped the simtek for me, with ALS and launch , the simtek is a bit more than tek 3 but definitly worth the extra . and you could even sell your original ecu on flea bay , or here maybe.

This help, mate?

FMIC overkill if you stick with TD04 IMHO

i think a scoob fitted witha td04 is the only scoob (other than sport) that you should stay witha top mount, put a td05 or a vf and then its a whole different ball game

think im gonna go for a TD05, the front mount then in for a re-map. still undecided about which one to go for, Simtek is the most populer by the looks of it.
Does anyone know a mapper in Bristol as i go there quite alot and visit the guys in Tileys fairly frequently...lol

If I was you I would drive the extra 40miles and visit Bob Rawle in Swindon. He's a top guy and as said highly respected in the Scooby world. He did my UK MY99 and with only the middle decat and a KN panel, he squeezed 281bhp and 312ft/lb out of it. Highly recommended
