Default What parts before remap?

I have a 99 RB5 and want it mapping soon.

It has a full H+S exhaust
Bell mouth decat downpipe
VF28 turbo
Walboro fuel pump
Free flow panel filter

Am I missing anything vital before I get it mapped?

Thanks

Do you have a samco/prodrive turbo to intercooler y-pipe ?,as the standard black plastic ones can be restictive.

Well if it's big enough for the P1 then it should be big enough for an Rb5.
300/300 is my goal.
Anymore and I will probably break something expensive.

with bigger turbo you can achieve 320/320 ish fine no worries. why mention the p1 engine when it it is an engine that has been proven to ned early rebuild

Personally I'd get a boost controller like the AVCR for two reasons

1) The MY99s have a factory installed emissions related boost cut facility, cuts boost down to .07 (?) bar when pootling around then applying WOT. Real PITA and cannot be mapped out. Most commonly rears its ugly head in 2nd gear but can happen in any gear IIRC. Boost controller overrides this.

2) The JECs ECU doesn't support in gear boost compensation as the DENSO one fitted to the new age does. This means you get lower levels of boost and slower rates of boost climb in 1st 2nd and 3rd than you do in 4th and 5th. A boost controller like the AVCR allows in gear boost compensation to be added. Makes a big difference to the drive. Wish I'd have got one from the outset of my mods TBH.

I'd also go with uprated spark plugs NGK 7s and if you can afford it, some ported and wrapped headers; they improves spool/responsiveness and liberate a few more ponies.

Then remap and I think you'll be impressed.

You are obviously confused

You have suggested a bigger turbo (presumably for more power).
I am happy with the power that the VF28 can achieve and I am merely stating that the P1 can produce over 320 bhp (when remapped) on the Vf28 so that's why I said if it's man enough for the P1, then it will do for me.

Engine rebuilds have nothing to do with the VF28.
