MAF or dump valve

Default MAF or dump valve

Sometimes when i pull up at a junction or traffic lights my car idles v.low and ocasionly stalls. This usualy happens when its warmed up after ive been on a long run. Its a 98 sti v4 with a few minor mods like de-cat dump valve , induction kit etc. Ive just had a rebuild done with uprated internals put in so i dont want anything to go pop again!! Do you think its the MAF causing this or the dump valve???

Out of the two I would say MAF sensor but check your idle control valve if you have one.

I cleaned the MAF with some electrical contact cleaner and the car seemed fine today but i might get rid of the dump valve and put a re-circ back on to make sure

I agree. Try that first. DV's are notorious for causing a poor idle.

my 94 wrx started idleing very strange today after a short blast,ticking over at 2k,then down to 1k,every second,whats that all about?

You got a dump valve too? If so try it with the standard item.

no dump valve dan,dont see the point realy!
