Default new owner question

just purschased our first scoob ( love it ) a 99 uk turbo, full service history, engine rebuild by subaru at 60000 miles, new clutch new cam belt so its in tip top condtition, totally standard!

only question ive got (as a total newbie to the turbo) is i gave it a quick blast on a long straight, when changing gear there was a short lack of power before it went off full throttle again, is this the lag and would a dump valve sort this out?

take it easy on me you lot, its probably a straight forward answer to you

Welcome to the forum m8 What you describe sounds like turbo lag and no a dump valve will not sort it out.

the dump valve will only surpress turbo stall so wont help with lag

are their any mods on the car as sometimes they can increase lag without a remap
