air flow sensor
i have an orange labled maf sensor on my 98 type r imported and i think the maf sensor has had it , it doesnt seem to idle properly, revs keep dipping and rising back up when on tickover, i went to subaru today to get some servecing parts and got a quote on a maf,i new they were expensive to replace but £284 holy s*&t came to mind anyone know how i can get over this problem or find 1 cheaper

Dealers normally quote for the MAF sensor AND housing. The MAF on its own is usually IRO £90. Get the part number off of your old one and get a quote for that, or ask in General Technical and someone will advise I'm sure.

The orange label ones are complete units are they not? The later ones allow you to replace just the sensor.
I have one that was working on my car when I took it off. Replaced it for peace of mind and the fact I got a great deal on a new one.
