Default Scooby running rough!!

How do!

I have a problem. My 1996 Impreza WRX (Import) is running a bit rough. Missing under acceleration, on and off boost. It occasionally struggles while idling too.

It's got a Walbro 255 fuel pump and a new set of NGK plugs. Tried disconnecting battery to reset ECU, left it for two hours but still no joy.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance!!

Sounds like a Maf issue to me, you can try and unplug it and see if it keeps running. If it keeps running the the Maf is more than likely gone and the ECU is taking over the running. If it stalls then the Maf is ok. If the Maf is ok then check the gaps on the plugs IIRC they should be set at 0.7. Good luck

could be the coil pack, also have you checked your ecu for fault codes if not do so, then try resetting by following the steps by this guy.

Cheers mate. I'll go and try the MAF now. I'll let you know how I get on.

Sounds like either MAF or Lambda problem

I'm in Warrington, Chesire.

I think i've found the problem with a little help from a friend who knows his Jap cars.

Seems one of the coil packs has given up the ghost. Ah well. Get a new set on pay day. Better put in some overtime!!

Thanks for the help guys. I'm glad I found this place. I'll be hanging around here!
