Default 3 Port Boost Selinoid Info

Hiya

In the next week or two, planning on having a turbo, Injectors, Pump etc fitted and was told that a 3 Port Boost seliniod would be benificial. Iv now managed to aquire one on ebay which the bloke said would fit my car (Impreza UK 300 Bugeye) (see Link): SUBARU IMPREZA WRX STI 3-PORT BOOST CONTROL SOLENOID. on eBay, also, Subaru, Car Parts, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 15-Mar-08 19:32:02 GMT)

Now iv got it, looks a bit smaller than the selinoid currently fitted and has a different plug fitment. just wanted some advice as to weather the one iv brought will be okay and also, advice on the best way of fitting it as it has a differnt plug connection and mounting points etc. Any advice would be greately appreciated.

Part No on the new one as follows:
PIERBURG PA6-6F30
7.00036.00
12V 04T047
1M50-9C728-AA

Heres two pics, one of the new selionoid and one of the seliniod currently fitted.

Cheers Fellas

after you have fitted all your parts it will need mapping to suit.

leave the 3 port boost solenoid off and get your mapper to fit it for you.

As has been said, leave the mapper to fit it for you.

I think most mappers actually carry/stock these, so you actually didnt need to buy one!!

Most of the 3 port solenoids need rewiring to fit on the Subaru loom.
You could fit the 3 port now and rig it up to work in 2 port mode until tuning time.
Here's some info:
3-port_boost_solenoid [Tarmac Wolf]

As regards to the cost of a 3 port, I bought 5 GM solenoids from the US for the price of a new Subaru one over here. The surplus ones were flogged to pay for other mods. That's why some people don't leave it to a mapper to supply.

Where can i get a prodrive wiring harness and bracket from. Is there anything special with the harnes or can i simply run the two wires from the stock harnes to the selinoid?

Many Thanks

Chris

I assume Prodrive decided on using the Pierburg solenoid and made an adapter harness to make a complete package.
I doubt it's sold on its own.

I just made up a wiring bridge between a GM solenoid and the std connector, making sure it was secure and waterproof, but allows the 2 port connector to be re-used.

The Prodrive one comes with the wiring - just plug in and away you go.
