Trusting Import Millage ?
hi guys,
my clock is showing 88,000 miles and it's an import can that be trusted.
does anybody know if when a car leaves japan the mileometer is reset or changed.
is the 88,000 miles right or will there need to have the miles built up in japan added
please help
Thanks David

Does the interior look like an 88,000 mile car?
My 93wrx came over with about 56,000km on the clock (then had a converter to change it to miles),the interior condition was very good (seat bolsters weren't worn out, carpets were fine, steering wheel wasn't worn).
exterior wise it's got a few dents and scratches.

to be honest i dont know if it is showing km/ml, i assume its miles.
if its showing 88,000 do you think it is made up of km & ml or when it got imported it started from fresh, so 88,000 miles plus what it dont in japan in km
thanks

how long ago was it imported ?
and what model/year is it ?
it may well still be in KM , it certainly was in japan
the traffic in japan is worse than ours so most of the cars over there do have low miles . . . . i bought a MY95 WRX last year , fresh import , 81000 Km , about 50k miles. as above, the interior was perfect but it did have a few dings etc , for £2100 though it was well worth it, specially as i spent £450 on it and sold it for £3250

I bought my 93 K plate wrx with 42k miles on the clock in Feb'06, like the replies above it had a perfect unworn interior and the car was standard bar a turbo timer.
It came with the Jumvea certificate to prove the mileage/kilometers
