Default Closed deck block

Hi all

I have just found out that my wrx v-limited import has a closed deck block based on the engine type code on my vin plate.
My question is based on the fact it is a closed deck block would it have the forged internals as the sti as my engine type code is the same as a v2 sti EJ20GDW5HE?

it may say that on the vin plate but anything could have been fitted in its lifetime have a look at the front of the engine where the crankshaft sensor is if you can see cross hatching on the drivers side of block then its a cdb or another way to check is get underneath and have a look above the oil modine (cooler) and you should see the same markings there if its a cdb
