just styling slots.. ripe for cold air feed and possibly a pipe in drivers side already?

Dumb question time. Should I craftily use said hole for cold air feed is there any problem with water being forced up the pipe into the filter box & moisture getting into the engine? I am thinking of driving down the motorway, following cars on a wet day scenario.
