Default GC8A - Inlet Mani & O2 Sensor config - pics

Hi all,

We've had pre-take apart Q's, post take apart and now I'm actually in the garage with the lappy It wasn't like this in the VW days!

A recent Select Monitor scan outed the O2 sensor as being faulty. Having scanned the manual the location for this should be right after the turbo, coming out horizontally on the nearside-side of the exhaust. I've had a badger and can see no O2 sensor... nor can I feel a hole for one to go into. Is it possible this car has had a pipe from a later car at some point where the O2 sensor location is different and has just been run without?

Next up I have an inlet manifold Q...

From left to right I can see the pressurised outlets going to:

1) Air Bypass Valve (bypass valve located between inlet tract pre-turbo and post-turbo pre-intercooler)

2) MAP Sensor

3) ? Where is the third one across going?

It has been T'd into this vehicle - I assume this is not the case on an OEM setup as the car has a boost gauge so I'm guessing this is where the reading is being lifted from. Where is this normally routed to?

As you can see the condition of the hosing off to the right of the T (as stated I am guessing this is off to boost gauge at this point in time) is in poor condition and needs cutting off with a clean end and re-attaching.

Any help on these two queries mega-appreciated!

Your O2 sensor is in the right hand exhaust header mate! Not the downpipe, your reading a later manual.
