Default superchips

hello,

here in Portugal a dealer uses superchips to remap, they do a rolling road test, send the data to superchips in the uk and install the new data.

they have nice cars, but thought I should ask you guys what do you think of this, is this reliable?

thanks

Do you mean this website? Superchips - Rediscover the joy of the open road

Over here in the UK we do have better options (and most people tend to avoid Superchips) but it all depends what you want from your car, how much you have to spend etc

yes, it's that website.

well, I think I can have some from the uk to map my car, but that will be really expensive.

there is someone that remaps with unichip, but don't know if that's good or not.

my car is stock ( my02 wrx ), just would like to give it a little more power or waste the money in handling...

Unichips are piggy back and i don't think many people like them either.

www.ecutek.com is most probably the best for your car (thre is a list of dealers on the website)

Despite being a Superchip dealer, I wouldn't use one of those!
They might have been "ok" years ago, but everybody knows better now.
Basically, they are an FCD, anti-fuel cut, and designed to cheat a way around the total breakdown that occurs when you try and tweak the boost pressure! They work by clamping down the MAP sensor output. The download is used to program the device. You can get away with them on a Rover, but certainly not a Subaru!
Unichip had a bad press because of the truly awful DOS based programming, confusing the hell out of anyone trying to deal with it. They have recently brought out a new system, not yet fully rolled out, which looks promising for some uses, but I can't see the point when Imprezas are so well served already. You can't beat EcuTek for the sort of tuning cmpequeno is after, and he'd be better off leaving it than doing it badly.

Use the money in handling mods :-)
If you don't have to brake you don't need extra power to regain the speed
