I have a 1994 wrx, the speed limiter has been removed, how has this been done, a chip in the ecu perhaps, I ask becsuse I wonder do these chips up bhp has well as remove the speed limiter or could it just remove the limiter.

My boost level is standard 0.8 bar, I seem to have the edge on my mates sti version 5, It has been decatted and headers have been ported by harvey, but could this be enough to pip my mates sti?

a chip should boost the bhp by up to 30 on an import but maybe its just been derestriced at the speedo cable

 

im running 1.2 bar on my chip

Thanks for the reply, it is only boosting 0.8 so standard I think, I didnt know it could be restricted on the speedo cable I thought it was the ecu, learn some thing every day.

no prob anyhow if you want the extra bhp speak to scott taylor on here its a sipmly diy job to fit the chip and what a diff it makes not only in power but much smoother across the rev range reckon you would be ok for around 150 quid and well worth it

 

Had a Scot chip in mine was great
