Apexi avcr - boost and duty??
Hi, need some advice! Was at a rolling road today and my 03 JDM version 8 is putting out 347bhp The tuners say the boost controller isnt set right as theres a big dip in the power graph between 3000 and 5000 rpm wheres shes just not getting boost and my torque is only 270lb/ft!!!
I have an apexi boost controller fitted and its currently saying its set at 1.2 bar which it seems to be boosting to ok outside that range.
Theres a setting called Ne-point which has now been set from 3000-7000rpm once i read the manual.
1) What is the safe maxium boost for a pretty much standard import - is 1.2 bar ok or can we get away with more?
2) What is duty and what should it be set to? Its currently at 40% but I dont know what it does!!!

if you have a boost gauge see what it boosts to on the road between those ranges.
the reason I say that is that quite often turbo cars will not make their target boost on the rollers.
With regards to your questions, have you had a remap? If not then I wouldnt run the risk of going any higher, I would probably be inclined to drop it down a bit.
The duty will control how quick the turbo comes in, so if you have a higher duty it should help the turbo spool quicker. The disadvantage is that you could then get surge. You could try incrementing it in say steps of 5 and see the effect it has on the road.

Thanks Jaytc!
Yes shes been remapped. I have set the ne-point now for 3000 - 75000 but haven't had her out for a run to test her.
Many thanks for the reply!
