Default Resonator box

Just been reading about removing the resonator box on classic imprezas. Does this actually do anything other than make more noise and has my car actually got one its a 98 uk2000?????

Your car will have one but wont make a lot of difference if removed unless you have it remapped.
Standard air box is very restrictive as you will see if you remove yours.
This is the main reason they're taken off then replaced with a cold air feed.

Are you talking of the intake resonator, or the exhaust?

The intake resonator is between the inner and outer wing, it has no real downside on flow and despite what weebil says it won't need a remap or anything, but it will make it a little louder and give a small dumpvalve noise from the stock recirc valve!

Adding to that the exhaust resonator will not need remap either, just give lots more noise
