Andy those things seem to cook themselves on. I had to use screwdrivers around the bottom of it to force it off. Although the turbo was off it still took me over 10 mins to remove.

Good Luck

Remove the inlet manifold. Even if you can get the old one out, which is just possible by smashing off the sticking out bits, you won't get the new one in.

Although I've had the inlet manifold off a couple of times before, this time when I found a leak in the same place as you, I couldn't bear the thought of taking it all off again. So I simply cut the rubbery section of the pipe back an inch or two, back to where it turns into hard plastic. I then sleeved this over with a piece of silicone coupling hose and it definitely works.

If you're planning on a Samco hose, people do say it can be done by pushing it through, but I personally would remove the manifold.

The samco one does squeeze though with a bit of effort.

On the plus side if you do decide to remove the inlet manifold might as well put some spacers on it.

I have not got one out without breaking bits of but the silicon replacement will go in without lifting the manifold.
