speak to API or Jolly Green Monster
you need a decat & a remap to get that sort of power, any more and you would probably need to swap the turbo (this is the advice I got from Simon @ JGM)

Was in the same position as you mate. You`ll need a remap, turbo mite be worth changing cos TD04 will be running out of puff at that sort of power, de - cat and a fuel pump.

270-280 requires following:
Decat/sports cat Down pipe (latter if you don't want MOT hassles)
Decat centre section (resonated I'd suggest)
Decent backbox.
Uprated panel filter
Uprated fuel pump
I'd also go for ported and wrapped headers, optional but will provide better spool and a few more ponies over the rev range.
There you go, 270-280bhp, you're limited by the turbo at that point, any further and things can get expensive!

IMHO you dont need 280bhp. You need 300 or above caus lets face it, you want to go one better than your mate
So if your going to get it remapped, you'd be better off getting another turbo so your not paying for it to get remapped twice, but be advised, going from standard to roughly 100bhp increase in torque will totally transform the drivability of your car. Thats a massive increase.
You could pick up some parts 2nd hand like downpipe and exhaust. Fuel pump and panel filters are relatively cheap now at £75 and £40. Cheap option turbos would be TD05 or VF28 for around £150-£250 and remap roughly £600 plus vat................and then a clutch...........

Before remaping it will i gain much from just getting the cats of it and putting a td05 on or will they not make much difference wiv out the remap ??

I wouldnt drive the car far without a remap after switching turbos as the A/F ratio will be all over the shop! Decat you should get away without a remap for a while but the map brings the best out of everything . Good look should be easy to get to 300

You should notice a significant difference with a snakehead downpipe and decat system as the OE system is very restrictive.
A remap is definately the key way to free the little horsies tho. A VF28 is a good reliable way to 320/320 although a TD05 can see 340-350ish with supporting mods. But by then the insides of your gearbox will be making a bid for freedom.Stick to 320 and start saving for a P1/Sti v5 gearbox/prop/diff at around £8/900, AndyF has done a good write up on his site.
