Default Gearbox oil

Hi fellow scoobidites

Is it easy to top up the gearbox oil if it running low i found the gearbox oil dipstick beside the downpipe and it looks low. Do i just pour the oil into where the dipstick goes and which grade of oil do i use?

Best to drain the old oil and refill using a funnel via the dip stick. Red line heavy duty shockproof gear oil 75w 140 is the best. You can purchase this from Opieoils you will need 3.5 litres

Subaru recomend Castrol Syntrax 75w90 as this has an addative in it to help your Baulk Rings work correctly.

If you drain the G/box you will need exactly 3.5Ltrs to bring it up to the correct level.
