tdo5 convert to straight entry

Default tdo5 convert to straight entry

afternoon everyone, i have been offered a td05 turbo with a 90deg intake, i was just wondering if i could swap the housing over to a straight entry ie. upgrade it to a 20g. my car is a wrx my98, any thoughts

You can alter the 90 degree housing to convert it to a straight entry version by cutting and careuly welding the end back on,thats how mine was converted,you can also get a new cover to bolt on that does the same thing.... 20g conversion is another thing and prob best done as an exchange on your current turbo.

or you could buy these and do the conversion yourself

3" Turbocharger compressor housing + TD05-20G wheel on eBay, also Other Performance Parts, Performance Tuning Parts, Car Tuning Styling, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 02-Mar-08 02:40:52 GMT)

the same seller has different sizes of housing and wheel so you could get whatever suits you

i see them on ebay that was my thoughts exactly but would i need spacers for the inlet manifold to get the 3"" pipe through

probably as on mine with a samco inlet it is tight on to a standard td05 16g,you could always use the 20g with 2.5" inlet
