Default Looking for a small upgrade , but what ?

On MY06 STI Im looking @ getting a little bit more from it , as it stands now

K&N typoon cold air induction kit
3" decat stainless exaust system
Tech 3 re-map
Ported turbo
346bhp/375lb

Now without going "to far" what would you do next ? I dont want to be replacing engine parts @ the mo but is there anything that can do done to add a little more

Opinions please

You could get a boost controller with gear specific boost profiling to get you more HP in the lower gears. It won't add to the headline figures but should make it quicker.

Jay could you recommend one ? Just had a look around & loads to pick from but is there any to stay away from ?

@ Varboy , thought of this but would need a re-map when fitted + equal or un-equal ? what would be the best ?

Isn't 06 STI twin scroll? I thought the OE twin scroll headers were really good.

Re booster controller my choice is the Apexi AVCR, but that to compliment the ECU I have. Best ask your mapper

Apexi AVCR still the best one imho.. allowing as Jay says gear dependant duty.. basically there is less load in the lower gears so the duty can be added to make target boost in the lower gears.. and you have a gearbox that can take it too

it is smaller than a single din.. well thinner..

yes.. better for 1/4 as you get full boost in the lower gears etc..

You could, of course go the other way and go the suspension route, going for a strut brace, lowering springs and rear drop links to sharpen up the handling a little more?

Best value for money mod I have done so far is a set of Harvey Smith ported headers and matched up-pipe. There is torque lower down and everywhere else and it is freer at the top. On a run it may be using less fuel and it is certainly more willing to go even on a whisper of throttle.

If you are fitting headers, you might as well fit a bigger turbo as well to see 400 bhp (+) and you will need a re-map for sure.... I am later this year when it's drier and warmer...

Why not get it remapped again anyway? those figures seem quite conservative for the mods list ?

it might reduce drag, but painting it red is probably not going to do anything for your cause, especially if you paint it as badly as i did mine last year!!!lol
