Default blown rad after fitting apexi induction!

Hi guys well im putting the front mount on soon so the airbox has to go!

anyway i orderd an apexi power intake kit. fitted very well so took her out for a whirl. quite suprised to be honest but anyway got back home and could see steam/smoke from the engine bay.

Had a look and there was coolent everywhere (smelt nasty) and just noticed a crack/split where the hose connects to the rad with coolent weeing out of it

ive allready orderd a new rad but was confused as to why it decided to die after fitting the induction kit?

also im safe in saying the cars not driveable?

thanks guys

Were you giving it some when you went out for testdrive?

Is there water filling up in the overflow next to battery, when my head gasket went it popped the radiator by over pressurising (sp) it and it was coming out of the overflow. It would probably be boosting a little bit higher with induction thas why I was asking about giving it some.

Hope its not your head gasket.

I suspect that you leant on, or wrenched the coolant pipe when fitting the induction kit.... with age, the rads become brittle......!!

It was nothing to do with fitting the Apexi IK.

The end tanks on a classic rad are a well known weak point.

Mine went without warning 2 year ago.
