Default What to do??

Hi all, I'm just about to pick my first scooby up at the weeked. Nothing too special, a 94 wrx import.

It seems to be pretty standard at the mo and was just wondered if anyone can tell me what I should do first and what the best engine mods are?

Cheers G

IMO learn how to drive it before modding it , i got my 93wrx and thought i was amazing then found out it understeered (quite badly in the rain) and that was in the first week so a new set of good tyres went on and a calmly style of driving as well

As said above get it checked first (a service ,cam belt change, etc) unless they were done when you bought it.
You could fit a decat and an aftermarket exhaust (there's plenty of them).
You may find the brakes aren't that good (2 pots compared to later models which had 4 pots).

Depends on how much you want to spend as well and how much power you want (you're should be running 240ps (236bhp) or if a late 94 260ps(256bhp)

Spend your cash on a service first then think about starting off with a decent decat exhaust system, panel filter and remap

Thanks for your comments!

Got it now and all seems to be good! Pulls well in all gears, no smoke and sounds great!

The only things thats struck me so far is the brakes! Is it possible to change the hubs to a later model with bigger discs and 4 pots?

Thanks Gareth

4 pot calipers fit straight on with no need to alter anything (go with goodridge hoses and 5.1 fluid).
I also just uprated the pads with standard discs and they are a lot better then the 2 pots.

BUT make sure your wheels will fit over them , i had 16s (aftermarket ones) on the car but because of the spoke design the buggers scrapped some of the paint off so i bought some late model 5 spoke alloys.

Cool thanks for that. Got the later style multi spoke 17's on it so should be ok hopefully!

Is there a good company to get them from or just a normally scrappy?

Thanks Gareth

Actually got my 4 pots of the 'For Sale' section on here.

Could try Grade A or essexsubarubreakers (my mate bought his from there)

Normally about £250 for calipers (more for discs and pads obviously).

When i got mine i had them polished and then painted to make them look a bit better.
