Just been reading an old thread about jdm cars and there + and - points. One thing that came up is that there are two types, a GL vin number car (better) and a KL car. So naturally I thought I'd check mine to see what I had and looked at my V5 and it says GD!

Is this normal/possible/dodgy motor? Please advise as I'm startin to sweat a bit now with panick

 

The GD on the V5 refers to the vin code, for the classics it was GC8 and the newage cars it is GD.
The GL part refers to the trim level of your car, so no need to sweat with panic
