Tuning companies around Bristol?
I have a 2001 sti import which I've taken to inter-pro in bristol. They've told me that it's over boosting low down(4.5k-6.5k revs) then dropping off to much after that. The engine management light comes on when it's supposedly loosing boost aswell.
Has anyone else had anything like this who might be able to throw a few suggestions my way? If not can anyone recommend someone who could help around the Bristol area? Thanks

It does have a cat back exhaust. Also a cheap hks look alike dump valve and manual boost valve that were all previously fitted. Could that have anything to do with it? I'll Look those two up. Thanks for the advice. I did hear interpro weren't upto much.

Dont like the sound of a manual boost valve- this is probably the cause and Internovice should have removed this as it could be bye-bye engine with these things on!!
Go to Tewkesbury and get them to diagnose (and remove the manual boost valve - Jeez I havent used these since my Cossie times and they can cause horrendous overboost)
Then either get them or Bob Rawle to get an Ecutek remap done - safer with far more power/torque

Agree strongly with the above advice, get rid of that manual boost valve asap! Give Bob Rawle a ring and sort out the remap, be prepared for a slight delay, The best are always in demand I hope to get my MY99 remapped in the new year and I have been quoted £650-£750 give or take a new MAF
Good luck and a Merry Christmas

It sounds like they have fitted the exhaust and it has caused a boost problem, and they have then fitted the bleed valve to try and solve it, and it has either not, or made it better.. then sold the car on..
the standard ecu is fully mappable on your car using EcuTek, sounds like it needs the bleed valve removing, and possibly an original dump valve fitting and then a remap for the decat to sort boost spike, fuelling and get a little more power out of it.
