1993 JDM MOT failure - emissions
Hi everyone,
My MOT expires in January so I tried to renew it last week. The car failed on emissions quite badly. It had a very high CO reading of over 3.7% on fast idle but passed on HC. Everything was fine on slow idle.
The garage don't have a clue what's wrong with it and my local dealer stuck their fingers in their ears and started humming as soon as I mentioned the word 'import'.
I've checked the ECU and there are no stored error codes. I've always run the car on V-power and it had an engine rebuild (previous owner) around 3,000 miles ago.
Anyone have any ideas?
Does the car need a catalyst?
Thanks
Alan.
