Default Oil Cooler Required ??

Hi,

If I do not track but do use my 06 WRX on sustained high speed runs - 5-6500 rpm is it necessary to install an oil cooler ? Also, if I install an oil cooler, do I need to upgrade the oil pump (afraid of drop in oil pressure ?) ?

Anyone done that (consistent high speed runs) safely without an oil cooler ?

This is an 06 WRX with ECUtek, TD05-18G (yet to be installed), 650cc injectors (yet to be installed), decat dp, 3" piping all the way to the exhaust, K&N short ram.

Problem is I don't have an oil temp gauge - hence have not upgraded the turbo yet..... still on TD04 (244whp).

Any opinions ?

Good idea for long runs. Bad idea for short trips to the shop!
