Default Where To Connect My Earthing Kit?

Hi guys,

Just bought a load of top quality earthing cable and enough solder to make a car from scratch.

I know people are in two minds over whether earthing its are any good or not, but I need to give it a go as I can't get rid of stereo whin, and this will be the last thing I have tried.

Now before I go cutting the wiring, where are the best places to eart the car.?

I was thinking, both sides of the engine bay on the wings, the alternator, the starter motor, the manifold and the block.

Need I earth anyway else?

Also is there anywhere in particular on the block, manifold etc I should earth to, or more importnantly should not earth to?

i earthed mine on both sides of inlet manifold, both front suspension turrets and the starter motor. some people say that at least one should be earthed to the ecu in passenger side footwell, but to be honest i was to lazy to bother trying to feed the cable through and didnt want to bugger anything else up.

the one thing i will say is it did make a very slight difference but for what it cost to do it was worth it.

I'm guess thats just connecting it to the caseing of the ECU?

I'v got an Apexi Power FC does that make any difference?

Won't make any difference at all.

I made my own far cheaper and custom fit.

I earth each side of the inlet manifold, Alternator, both suspension turrets, ECU case (Link in my case), and one down to the inner wing as I'd heard the std earth can be pretty poor.

It's the brown cable in this pic.

Thanks RoRu. Exactly what I needed.

I'm making my own kit too, the end of the day it's just wire and some ring connectors.

Cheers Ears.

Oh, any point in earthing the starter motor too?

Never heard of earthing the starter motor myself, I won't hurt but IMO a waste of time.

I think wrxsti280 meant alternator not starter motor personally.
