Default Standard fule pump ?

Just wondering if anyone can tell me if this is standard for a 96 RA ? I know it is probably impossible to tell from these pics, but I am running very rich at the top end and was wondering if I have a uprated fuel pump? If not ill get a walboro before I get the ECU fidled with. It does not look like the wires or tubes have been changed if that helps.

dyno fueling, totally standard car at this point accept a STI pannel filter.

you would need to take it out tell tell, but a fuel pump wont cause it to run rich anyway! could be any number of things, too high fuel pressure, dirty injector etc. making good power though

Yes im guessing the standard map has it running rich at the top end of the rev range, but im wondering if my fuel pump and injectors are capable of 320 bhp or so, it obviously can run plenty of fuel for 280 bhp (totally standard accept STI Panel filter) But I have a 3" downpipe going on Friday and will get a daughter board/Power FC after xmas. I am not looking for massive boost 1.2/1.25 is plenty as this is a track car. Just wondering if I should upgrade the fueling or can safely achieve this with stock components.

I Know someone who is fueling well at 320 bhp and standard 380's and fuel pump, but then you here people struggling to safely make 300bhp, so I think that different cars fuel better than others, even with the same stock components.

like you say, some cars are just different! my wrx is making 276bhp with a 255 and fuel press reg. to get 320+ i have been advised to get 550's for when i remap next month! looking at your chart i would think it will be ok on your injectors but an adjustable fuel press reg will fine tune it some more.

That makes sense. As you say I think my injectors are good for 300+ bhp, but a fuel reg maybe a good idea. Im planing on getting back on the dyno once the downpipe is fitted, also has a Prodrive back box now and see what the figures are like, if it producing around 290bhp and the fueling is still good ill probably hold fire on the injectors for the time being. Remap it to a safe useable level and look at fueling if im going to upgrade anything else next year.

Strange how exactly the same components can very so much from car to car
