how do i know if ive got a genuine red top engine??or a powder coated one?

 

Its not the be all of engine identification...

My STi RA has a silver manifold - but with the obvious 5th injector is not likely to the wrong engine.

And when it was stripped it was a closed deck lump with oil squirters, solid tappets and forged pistons.

mate its not the be all or anything all, redtop means nothing (of course unless your 17 and your scooby has one, then it means its 330bhp lol

mine was silver and as above had 5th injector post, CDB, oil sprayers ect ect

i think its just a follow on from the redtops on the nova's ect
