Coolant Temp Sensor
Have found the error code 21, which is the coolant temp sensor. Where is it located and do i need to replace it?
I've lost water twice from the coolant resevoir and now seems okay, but the check engine light keeps coming on, so just want to know if its okay for me to drive still until i get the replacement part?
Also, do i need to do anything else apart from changing the sensor?
Scotty.

I replaced mine about a year ago (Version II so will be the same). The part number is 22630AA041.
It's located in a water distribution pipe on top of the engine block but under the inlet manifold. If you look down behind the inlet manifold at the left side just off centre (standing looking at the engine as normal). You should see it, it has a brown two pin connector going into a brass coloured hex. The sensor for the gauge is next to it, it's smaller, with just a spade connection.
The sensor itself may be ok, it could be a problem with the wiring.
Should be ok to drive short distances as long as the radiator fans are not on constantly. (Common symptom when the coolant temp sensor is faulty, as the ECU doesn't know how hot the engine is, so puts the fans on.)
Mine didn't do this, I just got the fault code. Replaced it and it didn't return.
