I have the chance to purchase some vers 3 sti heads only prob there is one with a small hairline crack will this affect it i am putting it on a 2.5 block with a vf turbo here is a link for them

As long as the crack doesn't go down the plug hole for more than about 10mm then i think you should be ok, this was the advice given to me when i found some cracks in the heads that i have on my UK MY99. I have run them like this without problems for a while although i have different issues with my engine now

 

I would want to see a picture of the shims and buckets to be sure they are sti3..

they are only the wildest cams until the sti5.. but are the best that will fit with a phase 1 or 1.5 inlet manifold.

Oh and the head castings for phase 1.5 are all the same so you can swap the cracked one with a uk head casting but would need to reshim them assuming they are true under bucket shims.

these ones are true sti3 heads as i have sti3 heads on my car and know what they look like. I know this for sure since i know the seller....and no i ain't the seller!
