Default Oil Temp?

What is the correct oil temp for a 95 WRX. I've fitted an oil temp gauge and it never goes above 40-50 degrees unless sitting ticking over, then it only gets to 70.

Fitted the Sender into the sump plug. Had a special one made.

cheers

Are you sure the tip of the sender is inside the sump? If most of the sender is in the adaptor rather than the sump, you may be monitoring a dead leg of oil, plus the adaptor is being cooled by the airflow when the car is moving.

Just a thought, assuming the gauge / sender isn't faulty

Expect 90 to 100 without an oil cooler. You definitely have a sender problem.
