has it started since using the mobil 1?

what age and model?

the mobil 1 is not well suited imho.. and it may just be a case of running different oil if it is only the tappets making the noise..

the 99 onward cars do develop a tapping / knocking noise when the cam belt tension is on it's way out and the other obvious tap / knock is big end bearings but as you called it a tapping.. hopefully it is just the tappets, depending on model and therefore type of tappets it may be a dropped shim, or clearance problem or just simply the oil if hydraulic tappets.

Lincoln you have scoobyclinic or zen performance both not a mega distance away

It is some sort of metalic sound tapping, knocking when the car is warm, when is cold is ok and You cant hear that. My car is a Jap import, 1995 wrx impreza turbo, automatic and hopefuly there is only a tappets not bearings . Anyway, was running fine when ive bought it. then i have changed oil for Mobil S semi synthetic, becouse previous owner has been used semi synthetic but he do not know witch becouse garrage just to do that for him. Car has done 146000 miles so far. I have no clue how the car has been used before. What sort of oil are You recomend for my engine?? What do U think about Valvoline Max Life 10w 40, will be ok for turbo engines??
cheers

Tapping or knocking? With 146k on the clock i would expect a little more noise from the lifters however the above knocking and tapping are quite different.

First of as suggested change to a fully synthetic i would go with a 10/60 millers.

Agree with jolly on that, or silkolene, mobil seems to make any engine noisy, especially top end!
