Default hunting the revs (not a question honest)

Right guys and girls

My subaru has just started to hunt the revs when you first stop for a few seconds before it calms down to normal.

I done the usual searches and un plugged the MAF which stalled the car much to my delight

I then un plugged the ICV and start the car which then idled like s##t again made me happy.

Right once all plugged back in the car has been idling and runnig like a dream and I have no idea why but I am happy.

Is there a chance that I had a dodgy connection? the connectors were all hard to pull off so I am struggling to believe that but like I said after it was plugged in the problem went away!!!

Any ideas on what the fault could have been?

Cheers

Lee
