A pressurised water system!

If the hoses to the rad (the big ones top and bottom ) are solid and water is bubbling in the overflow after a run then that would be it!
this has just happend to my car, it has been chemicaly tested for HG failure and passed twice but there is no other reason to explain it !

Just because it's not smoking doesnt mean it hasnt failed and it's the same with chemical test as well, it could be at the beginning of failing!"

as above really. Also put the header tank overflow pipe in a small coke bottle which will show you if and how much coolant you are loosing. My gaskets went but only under hard boost conditions.
If you have an electronic water gauge (I used the water temp gauge on the commander for my Apexi PFC) you may also notice the temperature rise slightly above normal. Mine ran 86-87 normally but when the gaskets started failing crept up a few degrees to 88-90 constantly.

HTH

after a run, switch off the engine and check you expansion tank, if you see bubbles....it would be the begining of head gasket failure
