Default Which ECU??

I've been trying to find out some information on which ECU should be a standard fitment on Version 1 MY94 STi's. I'm currently running an STi 1, and have a 6K ecu from a version 2 STi fitted. The car runs fine, but i was curious to know what the original ecu was. Also, what differences (apart from red manifold) do the version 2 STi's have to the version 1's? Do they have same internals, injectors etc, or are they quite different? Any experts out there with knowlege on this subject would be appreciated.

Steve.

Sti 1 uses an SA ECU which is a standard ECU but chipped.
If runs quite high boost for a Pre96 and very lean.
The 6K runs slighlty lower boost and a safer fuel/ignition map.
The Sti 1 is spec'd at 250PS and STi 2 275PS IIRC...

Not sure why there is such a difference in specified power when you consider the STi 1 is lower powered but runs higher boost and leaner fueling.
I don't think the timing is much different...would have to check the base maps.

Thanks for the info, i had an SA ecu noted on a spec sheet as also being from an STi 2, maybe wrong as i've only come across 6K's in these.

So what are the differences in the engine internals? Same pistons, crank, closed deck block and injectors etc, or are they different?
