Default Knocking sound

Hi guys,

I've got a knocking sound coming from the engine. It's more apparent when the engine is cold (especially now the weather is getting colder). At first i thought it was piston slap (seems to get quieter after 10-15mins of running), but you can hear very faintly at low revs, however if i blip the throttle (upto 1000rpm) it becomes more audible, but after roughly 1200rpm it can't be heard. Any ideas?

Cheers
Mark

BTW car is MY02 PPP

hmm, piston slap sounds feasable, but thought it was more on classics than later models.

if it is an engine knock, big IF i add,big ends ?

hard to say without hearing it,sure its the actual engine knocking not something attached to the engine ?
